Ester line Daiwa Presso Area Type E 150m: The Sensitivity Specialist.
The Daiwa Presso Area Type E (Ester) is a high-density polyester line purpose-built for the technical demands of tournament trout fishing. Engineered for maximum feedback, this line features a rigidity that sits between nylon and fluorocarbon, providing an incredibly direct link to your lure. This near-zero stretch property allows anglers to detect the faintest "nibbles" that would otherwise be lost in the elasticity of traditional monofilaments.
With a specific gravity of 1.38, the Type E sinks steadily, allowing micro-spoons and small plugs to reach their target depth faster and stay there during the retrieve. The surface is treated with a specialized coating to improve slickness, which aids in friction-free casting while slightly boosting the knot strength—a critical factor when using ultra-thin diameters. Finished in a subtle transparent orange, it offers enough visibility for the angler to track line movement without spooking wary fish in high-pressure "Area" ponds.
Note: Due to the low elasticity of ester material, it is highly recommended to pair this line with a soft-action rod and a light fluorocarbon leader to prevent breakage during aggressive strikes.
